Color Matching
Bring the target shade, the intended fabric and the print method into the same conversation.
Share the reference
Provide the RGB artwork, a clearly identified target shade and, where possible, a physical fabric swatch or printed reference. Say which colours are critical and which have some flexibility. A screenshot viewed on different displays is not a dependable colour standard.
Understand the base material
A white cotton base, a sheer polyester, a textured blend and a finished satin can make the same design appear different. We review composition, base shade, weave, intended finish and printing method when discussing the colour outcome.
Check after the relevant finishing
A strike-off should be assessed on the intended material after the process-specific fixing or finishing. For reactive printing, that can include steaming and washing; pigment and sublimation use different routes. View the result in suitable light and compare with the agreed physical reference.
Approve and record
If a sample needs a change, identify the colourway and file revision before another trial. Record the approved sample as the production reference. Exact screen-to-fabric identity is not promised, and a fabric or process change may need a fresh review.
Colour approval record
Keep the approved swatch, colour reference, artwork revision, fabric composition and finishing note together. These references are useful when a colour-critical design is reordered.
Frequently asked questions
Can you match the colour on my phone exactly?
Phone displays and viewing conditions vary. Share a physical reference and check a sample on the intended fabric.
Does RGB mean the fabric will match my monitor?
RGB is the requested artwork profile, but the printed appearance depends on material and process.
Should I approve before or after finishing?
Review the sample after the complete relevant process for that method.
