Printing knowledge
Practical guides for preparing a fabric print brief and choosing a suitable production route.
Prepare artwork for fabric printing
Start with the final physical width and height, plus whether the artwork is a repeat, a border or a placed graphic. A TIFF or PDF at 300 DPI in RGB is a useful starting point for our fabric workflow. Include the intended fabric, reference colours and the quantity in your enquiry. A small test can reveal differences in scale or shade before a larger order.
Choose a print method around the fabric
Polyester may suit sublimation, while selected natural fibres may use reactive printing with preparation, steaming and washing. Pigment is another option on suitable material; screen-based routes can suit planned repeats or placement. Method choice depends on fabric composition, colour target, hand feel and run size, so confirm with a sample before production.
Use the blog as a planning reference
Product requirements still need to be confirmed against the actual fabric, artwork, quantity and intended use. Share those details with the team for a job-specific recommendation.
